lovage. Medium to medium light body, excellent balanced mature fruit, acidity
and soft tannins. Medium long finish, quite nice aftertaste. By no means a
great wine but excellent drinking now. Short note: Pretty woman. Score: 50 +
4 for optic + 14 for bouquet + 17 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of

cool fruit in the nose, espresso, very nice. Medium to medium full body,
mature soft dark red fruit, soft but persistent tannins, very well balanced. Long

Madiran, France: Dark purple, clear, dense tears, heavy baked sediment. Nose
slightly sauvage, dark fruit, some rooty notes. Medium to medium full body,
some rooty earthy note, intense dark fruit, good tannins, good acidity, good
balance, bit rustic maybe. Long finish, soft velvety tannins, well integrated
acidity. It is nice to have an intense tasting wine with this low alcohol
content of 12.5%. Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 13 for bouquet + 17 for taste + 8
for overall = total score of 92. Not blind. Decanted shortly before tasting. Riedel

mature red fruit nose. Medium to full body, caramelised note, sweet spice
like cinnamon, velvety tannins, slightly hot. Medium long finish, sweet
tannins. Amazing bottle, strange character compared with the other bottles I
had in the last years from this wine. Score: 50 + 4 for optic + 13 for

Valpolicella Classico, Veneto, Italy: Medium to dark ruby, very bright, dense
tears, nearly no sediment. Whiff of barnyard, bitter-sweet fruit behind,
cool. Full body, very intense flavors similar to dark chocolate (you want to
keep this in your mouth and delay swallowing), slightly bitter sweet red and
dark fruit, good acidity, persistent tannins, well balanced if a bit hot (big
deal with 15,5% vol. alc). Very long and nice aftertaste. Nice experience.

one. 1994 is the only Bordeaux vintage with a significant number of bottles
in my cellar. Until now I was not very happy with this. But as the wines
approach maturity now I find these wines very attractive, especially when I
remember the low prices |

Rioja (90% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano), Spain: Dark brilliant purple, really
dense tears, bit of floating plus good deal of tartrate sediment. Animal
nose, dark spicy fruit, honeycomb, bit resinous, quite a nose. Medium full to
full body, dry resinous dark fruit, great acidity (could fool you to take
this for a light bodied wine), black pepper tannins. Very long finish,
persistent black pepper tannins in the aftertaste. I don't think I would
guess here Rioja, but nevertheless not of international (too much acidity
here) but very specific style. I like this wine a lot. Score: 50 + 4 for
optic + 14 for bouquet + 18 for taste + 8 for overall = total score of 94.

everything here. Good match with braised pork filets with mozzarella, Parma
