Verkostungsnotiz Februar 2008:
2000 Rostaing, Cote Blonde, Cote
Rotie, Rhone, France: 89 |
Medium bright ruby. Clean red
fruit in the nose. Medium to slim body, delicate red fruit, good acidity,
sliky tannins. Medium long finish. Good match with food but stand alone a bit
thin. |
2003 Quinta do Crasto, Vinha da Ponte, Douro, Portugal: 93 |
Medium purple, dense tears, tiny
floating sediment parts - certainly not filtered. Dark berries in the nose
like Vintage Port, velvety, clean despite some volatile phenols. Rather full
body, intense dark berries, good integrated acidity, velvety tannins, good
balance. Long satisfying finish. Clearly not near maturity but no longer this
primary. |
2003 Wine & Soul, Pintas Vintage Port, Douro, Portugal: 91 |
Black purple, fat tears. Dense
primary dark berries. Full body, concentrated dark sweet primary berries,
soft acidity, slightly hard tannins, bit unbalanced due to the added spirit.
Very long finish with intense grip. Would be a perfect Vintage Port for a steak
with green pepper sauce. |
2005 Negly, La Falaise blanc, Languedoc, France : 91 |
Red yellow gold, floral, nuts,
good acidity, soft tannins. Very satisfying. |
1990 Beaucastel, Chateauneuf du Pape rouge, Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône,
France: 90 |
Light ruby with garnet rim and
very heavy sediment. Nose brett, very mature red fruit. Medium body, soft red
fruit, good acidity and mature tannins. Signs of overmaturity. |
2005 Beaucastel, Chateauneuf du Pape rouge, Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône,
France: 91 |
Dark ruby, fat tears. Sweet dark
fruit, velvety, clean. Full body, very sweet very primary dark fruit, good
acidity well integrated, intense tannins, good balance. Very long finish,
persistent black sweet tannins in the aftertaste. Nearly as primary fruity as
Vintage Port and not very Beaucastel. The seemingly over the hill 1990
vintage drunken parallel stood its ground very well - this is for the primary
fruit fans. |
2003 Latour, Corton-Charlemagne, Burgundy, France: 90 |
Light golden yellow, oak and
yellow fruit, nuts and yellow fruit, good acidity, soft tannins, nice finish.
Nice wine with bad QPR. |
2003 Aldo Conterno, Chardonnay, Piedmont, Italy: 88 |
Light yellow, bright, oaky, exotic
fruits, floral notes, nuts, good acidity, soft tannins, bit thin in the end.
International Chardonnay. Good match with sea brasse. |
1990 Guigal, Hermitage Rouge, Hermitage, Rhône, France: 93 |
Medium ruby. Touch of brett,
mature red fruit. Medium body, crisp acidity, delicate mellow red fruit, soft
tannins, good balance. Long finish, velvety fruity tannins in the aftertaste.
Very nice example for a prototype mature Hermitage. |
1998 Mordorée, Reine des Bois, Chateuaneuf du Pape, Rhone, France: 93 |
Dark purple. Hint of barnyard,
dark berries. Full body, dense dark fruit, soft acidity, velvety tannins,
excellent balance. Very long finish, some sweetness in the end. Excellent
wine stand alone, but hard to match with food. Example for a not so good match:
Osso Bucco. |
1999 Vignalta, Gemola, Colli Euganei Rosso, Italy: Corked |
Corked. |
2000 Radikon, Oslavje Bianco, Collio, Italy: 89 |
Amber golden, slightly dusty, fat
tears. Austere nose, low fruit, dried flowers, fermentation aromas. Medium
body, austere, low fruit, shy oxidized note, good acidity. Medium long
finish, clean aftertaste. Very interesting wine, made with mash fermentation
and without addition of sulphur. Avoid usual stemware as such a special wine
requires different glasses. |
1989 Prunotto, Montestefano, Barbaresco, Piedmont, Italy: 91 |
Medium garnet, fat tears, some
baked sediment. Soft and sweet velvety nose. Medium body, soft sweet red
fruit, silky acidity, good balance. Medium long finish, clean in the
aftertaste. Good match with Folio d'Autumno, quite mature, not as excellent
as expected. |
1990 Aldo Conterno, Bussia Soprana, Barolo, Piedmont, Italy: 92 |
Light ruby, fat tears, lots of
sediment. Nose bit resinous, some dark red fruit. Medium to full body,
resinous red fruit, good masked acidity, velvety persistent tannins, earthy
note, hint of truffles, good balance. Long finish, persistent tannins in the
aftertaste. Slight off note due to the resinous touch. Quite mature now. |
1956 El Grifo, Malvasia, Lanzarote, Canarias, Spain: 84 |
Light amber, bright, some
flloating sediment. Sweet raisin nose. Medium body, very sweet raisins, soft
finish. Not a great wine but nice with dessert and a nice memory from past
holidays. |
