Verkostungsnotiz Jänner 2008:
1990 Prunotto, Montestefano, Barbaresco, Piedmont, Italy: 94 |
Transparent light garnet, clean
nose with soft dark red fruit. Medium full to slim body, clean soft mature
red fruit, silky tannins, soft acidity. Long and warm velvety finish. This
wine certainly rewards your patience regarding ageing - beautiful and
elegant. |
1991 Jamet, Côte Rôtie, Côte Rôtie, Rhône, France: 94 |
Brilliant ruby, heavy sediment
baked on the side of the bottle. Slightly earthy clean nose, dark fruit. Medium
body, mature dark fruit, intense for a wine of this age, good acidity, cool
silky persistent tannins, good balance. Long finish, clean aftertaste. Perfectly
mature now. |
1990 Beaucastel, Chateauneuf du Pape rouge, Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône,
France: 91 |
Medium ruby with heavy sediment. Nose
near border brett, on the brink of overmaturity. Medium body, soft red fruit,
good acidity and tannins. Signs of overmaturity again. |
2003 Gahier, Savagnin, Arbois, Jura, France: 85 |
Light green yellow gold, slightest
hint of oxidation, slim body, bit acidic, hint herbs, dried flowers, low in
fruit, bit thin in the middle, short finish. Only of interest if you want to
explore Jura wines or as base wine for cooking "Poulet au Vin
Jaune". |
2005 Dugat-Py, Bourgogne rouge, Burgundy, France: 88 |
Light purple, clear. Clean red
fruit in the nose, low typicity. Medium body, firm, clean red and dark fruit,
good acidity, soft tannins. Nice wine with low Burgundy typicity, could be an
international Pinot Noir |
1989 Conterno, Bussia Soprana, Barolo, Piedmont, Italy: 94 |
Brilliant dark garnet. Very clean
delicate velvety fruit. Medium body, excellent balance, delicate red fruit,
delicate acidity, soft silky tannins. Lonf finish with perfect soft fruity
velvety aftertaste. Seems mature now and is delicious to drink - best stand
alone to really appreciate it. |
2004 Kopp von der Crone, Balin,
Merlot, Ticino, Switzerland: 88 |
Dark garnet, delicate red fruit,
medium body, strong acidity, bit harsh tannins - for a Swiss wine quite a vin
de garde. May be a tad too much sulfur. |
2004 Pegau, Reservée, Chateuneuf du Pape, Rhone, France: 91 |
Dark garnet, hint of barnyard,
after some minutes in the glass clean delicate red fruit, medium body, soft
acidity, silky tannins, good balance and hint of elegance, but not great. First
time ever for me a young Pegau with a bit of brett in the nose - at least I
was a bit surprised |
1989 Pradeaux, Bandol Rouge, Provence, France: 91 |
Dark garnet. Dried herbs in the
nose, lovage, clean. Medium body, silky soft dark fruit, good balance,
delicate acidity, soft silky tannins. Expected some brett here and found
none. Mature and delicate. |
1994 Voge, Vieilles Fontaines, Cornas, Rhône, France: 91 |
Transparent ruby. Clean red fruit
in the nose, bit austere. Medium body, clean red fruit, quite acidic, silky
tannins, good balance. Perfect with your meal, not so satisfying stand alone.
|
2005 Negly, La Falaise blanc, Languedoc, France : 91 |
Did it again and liked it again. Red
gold, honey note, ripe nuts, nice acidity, soft tannins. Great QPR |
1998 Les Cailloux, Chateauneuf du Pape, Rhône, France: 93 |
Dark garnet, brilliant. Clean
nose, dark fruit, spices. Medium full body, delicate dark red fruit, soft
acidity, soft velvety tannins, nice finish. Very classic Chateauneuf du Pape,
already good to drink, yet not fully mature. |
1986 Niepoort, Colheita, Porto, Portugal: 90 |
Light amber, dense tears. Sweet
honey and almond nose. Full body, mellow sweet taste, honey and almonds, good
acidity, long and nice aftertaste. Perfect match with caramelized pears -
especially when you use it also for cooking. |
1992 Durand, Chateau-Chalon, Jura, France: 91 |
Bright light golden yellow. Nose
oxidised, hint of nuts. Medium body, spicy taste, crisp acidity, very good
dry finish. Very good match with cheese, especially old Comté. Certainly wine
of interest. |
1990 Comte Armand, Clos des Epeneaux, Pommard 1er Cru, Burgundy, France:
88 |
Medium ruby. Nose rather austere,
low in fruit, mineral touch. Medium body, bit harsh acidity, again rather
austere, coarse tannins. Long finish with acid coarse tannins. Have already
abandoned hope this wine will ever reach maturity. |
2003 Renato Corino, Barolo, Piedmont, Italy: 87 |
Dark brilliant garnet. Low red
fruit in otherwise rather austere nose. Medium body, some red fruit and
mineral notes, again rather austere, may be a bit too heavily sulphured. Medium
finish. Not of special interest |
